FIC: Those Who Wait (Patience)

Aug 30, 2010 23:01

So, I thought I would stretch myself, and I did.  This is the first time I've ever written any non-fade-to-black sex.  I don't really think I'm good at humor, but here I am with a humor piece.  I'm hoping that this is Alistair enough to be here; I'd like to think he displays patience as well. :)  Anyway, this is Round Three of the Seven Heavenly ( Read more... )

media: fic, challenges: sib, character: alistair, challenges: seven heavenly virtues, character: aeducan, nsfw

You're just fine with humour, that was very funny :)

Ahahaha this was hilarious. It is late at night and my room mate is asleep, and I had to concentrate on not lol-ing. It was a nice touch to nod to the romance cliches without being trapped by them, and I LOVE how you acknowledge the pitfalls of sex, where as other sex-fanfics avoid them like the plague. In particular, public-hair-in-teeth simultaneously made me go, "Uh ew..." and also laugh a lot because it rings true. Not to mention the, "DOING TWO THINGS AT ONCE IS HARD" idea, because it seems like in a lot of sex fics EVERYONE HAS TWELVE HANDS WITH TWENTY FINGERS EACH THAT THEY CAN USE EFFECTIVELY ALL AT ONCE.

Thank you. :) And I'm not trying to put down other people's work; realistic sex also isn't necessarily all that sexy to read about, I realize that, too. :)

Haha, oh that's definitely true, because a lot of the time we're reading fics to get away from the suckiness of reality, but the rest of the time we're laughing maniacally at characters' plights. XD Or maybe that's just me. >.>

For a virgin, there are FAR too many fics about Alistair, God Of Sex. I think this is adorable and funny - and this time realism doesn't ruin a "mood", it MAKES it. Bravo.

The fun ones are the ones that try to explain why he's so awesome quickly. I think Templar willpower is a great one. (No, really, it's very clever.)

Haha. You know, if done just right, those are rather sweet because he's trying to be all "well I'm good at everything else, why can't I be good at this? JUST PAY ATTENTION...OKGO" which I laugh at, but which I also find stupidly adorable ( ... )

We all have our hot buttons. Ask me about medievalists in kilts sometime. ;) But yeah, I have conversations about, say, the new Star Trek movie where people end up looking at me like "Spaceships = okay, but not this plot point?"

I read one somewhere with a male warden that knew just as little as Alistair, but they were both trying to sound experienced that was hilarious. And I think you should write about Fabio!Alistair. :)

Yay for breaking new ground!

You handled it really well; the realism and hunour were excellent.
