Question: the Origin of Darkspawn
So we all know that the Chantry claims that the darkspawn appeared after the Tevinter Magisters corrupted the Golden City.
And then in the Legacy DLC we meet Corypheus, who seems to confirm the story (disconcerting poor Anders). But from what he was saying it sounded to me like the Golden City was blackened before he got there. Was he perhaps one of the last magisters to go to the city or had something got there first? Or am I just reading to much into what he says?
My other question is does anyone have any theories on non-Chantry explanations for the appearance of the darkspawn? I've checked the codex and the wiki and there doesn't seem to be any theories given. I'm most interested in the dwarves as they were the first and hardest hit, but what about the dalish or qunari, or Chasined or other humans outside of the Chantry? I'm sure that the dalish refer to the darkspawn as the 'tainted ones' but can't find anything else they have to say about it.
I've got a major plot-bunny clamouring for attention but I can't get this straight in my head. Any info or thoughts would be greatly appriciated.
