Mod Update: Tags and Things
Going through today and adding Character Tags for DA II, and very belatedly for Awakening.
What are the community tag needs?
Okay, I've just overhauled the tagging system. I've added over a dozen characters, weeded out and retagged most of the redundant tags, and changed the organization of the tags themselves to make searching for appropriate tags less cumbersome. Don't let this stop you though, please continue thinking about what tags the community may need.
>> Now, for the changes: Since Livejournal alphabatizes each tag, I've changed the tagging system so that most tags are now divided by a category. This is simply for sanity's sake. The largest changes are highlighted below, and they will not only make organization easier but they'll make quick tagging... you know, quick.
"Edit Tags" feature after you've posted. Select the appropriate tags, and save your changes.
>> The Official DA2 Help thread has now been updated with the navigation table that was promised. Check it out, here. There are a few unresolved issues that could use some community assistance too. Questions with spoilers have been marked.
>> Back in ye olden days of SIB, we did something called the "Weekly Swooper Challenge". This is something that I'd like to start again for DA2. When we did them, it was a great exercise for the community and it helped spark a fanfiction train. I'm ready for my Fenris fic, and ff.net doesn't even have a Fenris tag. These prompts will remain spoiler free, or they will be clearly marked by the Act when the spoiler occurs. Since we're no longer focused on a singular love interest (like we were for Origins), I will try to keep them open for interpretation. Before this begins (Thursday the 17th), I will put up a screened post for community members to drop prompts, too. It'll help keep things fresh and well rounded.
>> We used to do something called the Weekly Round-up. Rather than bringing that back, would the community be interested in doing something like an occassional Rec post? Members would be free to pimp their favorite stories, videos, and art. Not only from this community, but they'd be able to recommend things from other media sites (both around LJ and from the greater internet whole).
That's really about it for me, guys. Right now I'm working on a table for the DA2 romance thread, as some great questions have come up in casual discussion and should be highlighted. For those of you who are looking, that post has also been edited to include a list of each companion gift and it's location. The table should be up tomorrow, and the Prompt Drop will be up shortly.

- Tags for both "character: m!hawke" and "character: f!hawke".
