There are these rumors on the, uh, internets, that today, Jan. 22, is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year. I'm not sure why since the least sunny day of the year was a month ago and most people have their own personally depressing days that stem from events, not calendars. I can usually pinpoint my depression down to periods or hours within days. Last night was not good, for example.
I had the best job interview I've ever had in my life this morning. I woke up extra early despite not going to sleep until 2:30 and steamed my
Gieves & Hawkes suit so I'd look extra dashing. Then, as Thomas suggested, I picked out my best underwear (Old Navy boxers with a topographical map on them) and my best socks (cushy, black socks from Target) and headed out.
I interviewed with two people and the second was very impressed that I had extra copies of my resume with me so he and the other manager wouldn't have to fight over the good one or make copies. The interview itself was awesome. I felt like I quickly developed a rapport with both interviewers. I also felt very relaxed and aware despite my five hours of sleep. Plus I gave really good, unique answers to all the stups stock interview questions.
Then I came home and studied for a couple hours before deciding to have a viewing day since I didn't have to work tonight. First, I watched Little Miss Sunshine. After that I watched Children of Men and then I watched as much of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as I could stand. That sent me straight to the Family Guy archives which is where I am now.
