On Several Things "Super."

Feb 04, 2008 13:04

I remember, there was this particular patient, who've somehow gotten stuck in my memory. The said person interjected with, "Super," when affirming information and plan of care updates. (I dunno. It just made me ^___^;;;;  a lot. )

Super Bowl last night. It the third and last of my three day stretch. I was tired and grumpy because the previous two days were also difficult for varying reasons. We thought it was going to be a quiet, relatively calmer day, as everyone would be glued to their televisions, and before that hopefully preparing for parties, etc.

Well. No such thing.  But we didn't get many drunks or altercation cases. That's good, ne? (We had the slew of ETOH and ODs Friday.)

Of course, almost every patient room was tuned to the game. Even the score for the last how-many-seconds was announced in the overhead paging system by some enthusiastic fan. The mood was rather celebratory, actually.

(But that was later in the evening. The rest of my day was pretty busy and the late afternoon and early evening was. . . Grrr! Frustrating. I can feel horribly inadequate as a nurse at times, but yesterday I felt the inadequacies wasn't just from my side. Gah.)

School again. Last week. Both my teachers seem promising. I think I'll probably need to step up the ante this semester. @__@

Last week was mostly review for the math class. At the end of the class, the professor, who seemed to like addressing his students singly with his dead-pan, straight faced humor, said to me, "Don't worry. Next we'll be steering away from this more relaxed pace." (Something like that, anyway. I tend to misquote. ^^;; ) I smiled sheepishly.

It doesn't show in my serious, usually uncommunicative concentrating expression, but I was actually mentally freaking out the entire time. I've never done well with math. @__@ The reviewed stuff. . . They're so seven years ago. T__T Which means, not only do I not have room to slack off, I have to put in extra effort.

(Extra effort + me = spontaneous combustion. Not good.)

I can't really think of anything else right. I had a couple of notions I wanted to blog about yesterday. (While I was brooding at work.) I can't remember it right now. So. . . Next time, next time.

Writing update:
31_days drabbles here and there, Sunergos 15 is drafted but yet to be encoded, and mikochan_noda has gotten me curious about the book "Twilight." Maybe I'll pick up a copy at some point. Though I still have a few books at hand in my to-read list. Meh.

The submission deadline for the school's literary contest seems to be on March 1. Maybe I can think of something before then. Hmm. . .
