rough draft submission

Jun 30, 2012 04:35

Firstly, an apology. The mods have had some serious technical difficulties in the past several weeks and couldn't send out confirmation emails for the messages we received at third check ins. Hopefully we've gotten everything sorted out now and you will be receiving an email when we receive your rough draft.

Now, ideally everyone is going to submit a draft that is a minimum of 10,000 words long. However, we know things happen, so here's how it's going to work: If you have less than the 10k word count at this time and you sincerely believe that you will be able to finish your fic and have it read by the time posting starts on August 21st, then you may submit what you have completed along with any outlines and notes that accompany your work.

If you've messaged a mod previously about circumstances that will impact your work, then we have made a note for you and you will also need to submit a draft and notes. If at this time you are not sure of your ability to finish or would like to talk about your posting options, please don't hesitate to contact us. It is unkind to any artist who might claim your story if you are unable to finish by deadline.

Submissions go like this:
  • You'll be sending your fic to superwholockmods@gmail.com
  • Your subject line should read "Rough Draft Submission - Username."
Please fill out this form (and keep the coding) as the body of your email

Username:
Word Count:
Completed Percentage:
Title:
Type:
Characters/Pairings:
Warnings:(non con, mpreg, etc)
Summary:(no more than three paragraphs)
Add your fic as an attachment to the email. It should be submitted as a .doc file, although .docx, .rtf. and googledocs are also acceptable. If you are submitting a googledoc make sure it is publicly viewable.

It's imperative that you include a concise summary of your fic, as that is what will be posted when artists begin to claim your works. Please make sure you included warnings for any triggering themes that your fic utilizes. If at this time you believe you will be unable to finish you work by the end of August, please message a mod with your username and state your desire to drop out.

When we receive your email we will send you a confirmation. You have until 11:59 PST on July 5th to submit your draft. Tomorrow (July 1st) a poll will be posted to determine what time claims will go up on the 6th. Please vote for any and all claims times that would be convenient for you.
