I was complaining about ads with moving pictures in them holding up the downloading of web pages and someone recommended that I use FOXFIRE. Has anyone experience with this? I'm not talking about popups. I actually rarely get those but for example on Yahoo Groups, they have ads that are little movies and you have to wait until the 'drama' is over before webpage will download. When I'm reading lots of posts there it really slows me down. I don't mind the ads but waiting for these movies to finish up is excruciating. I'm tempted to walk off and come back later like I used to do with dialup service.
Has anyone used Foxfire and think there is a difference? Can I stop these movies from running with something like an Active X control or something? I've heard of those but don't know what they are.
