Okay so yeah- long time no update- but as I promised my far away cousins- here's an update! Hopefully it's to your liking :-P
Lets see- So of course I'm back from Cuba! I had looooots of fun, but was dissapointed that I only did 3 TANKS! crazy- last summer I did at LEAST 3 a day for a whole month... so- I came back early. Partly b/c I wasn't diving and I was bored... but also b/c I missed my kids waaaay to much and of course I missed Michael!
School has already started back for me and the kids. School for me is going really well. I'm in 3 classes, Research Methods which should be pretty cool. My teach is a first time teaching grad student named Cliff- he seems to like it when i call his name :-P as does my whole group- I still don't quite understand why they all bust out laughing whenever I call for him to come over... oh well! I've also got Sex Roles in Modern Society, which to my suprise isn't about sex roles- it's more about feminism- blah... So far we've had discussions -aka debates- every class, which really sucks when I don't really care much about radical feminism and it's a 3 hour long class... I usually start to tune in when they talk about religion politics and gays/lesbians... that's the stuff i enjoy- but I will tell you- hard sometimes to be a Christian in that class- and people say Christians aren't open to stuff- to bad just about everyone in there has been totally closed minded to what Christians have to say. And honestly- if they don't get to know me as a Christian- I feel they have to place to say I'M close minded- cause if you ask just about any of my friends- you'll find I'm one of the most open-minded and accepting people they know- it's stupid to judge other people- so I try not to and don't have much tolerance for when people do. ANYWAYS- sorry about the rant! Okay well- my last class is an online class called Writing for the Technical Professional- so a lot of writing which is cool- cause that's where I excel :-). I've got that class with Mike- so we usually read and do our stuff together- plus it's nice to have someone to read over your papers and posts before you submit them.
The kids have been pretty cool since I've gotten back, but I haven't had a "normal" week yet. Week I got back was getting back in the groove- the girls wouldn't let go of me and seemed to freak when I left each night, and Connor was less than thrilled to have to pick up behind himself again and go back to things being a bit more strickt around here. The 2nd week their cousins came into town, so I had 5 kids to watch, but luckily it wasn't for long- their G'ma came into town and she helped with all of them... course- kinda sucked cause I felt like I had to watch everything I did and said the whole time- and she wasn't very talkative, so I felt uneasy around her. The next week we had a holiday so that wasn't a totally normal week... then last week their G'pa came into town. It was funny- the day he got here- he told me I could go when I finished helping Con with his homework- so I called Kelly just to make sure and she was like "not that I don't mind you going home early- but I dont' really know if I want to trust my dad with the kids alone- he might not watch them like you do" it was nice of her to say- and really rather funny :-P anywho- g'pa left yesterday and now it's just Haley and I during the day again!
Lets see- what else is there to update you all on!? Okay- well- I'm sure since I haven't posted in quite some time- you're probably wondering who Mike is... Mike is someone I met in the 6th grade- he and I llived on the same street in Orange Park. We were riding our bikes home one day after school, trying to beat each other to who's ever street came first (he swears he always tried to see how fast he could peddle home, I however was just plain competative and wanted to beat the boy), so of course we were shocked when we turned down the same street. I was like- Hi I'm Amy, he of course said he was Mike and we were instant best friends. So we've been best friends for 10 years now. He's always had a crush on me- and I always avoided him in every way when it came to that- he was just a friend :-P and like my little brother (he always hated it when I told people he was my little brother). Anyways- we're both at UCF now- all grown up. We hung out a few times his first semester then my phone went on the fritz and I lost my numbers. Just this past birthday of mine- he called and wanted to take me to dinner. Reluctantly I agreed and took my time in setting up the meeting :-P. Finally when we got together- my jaw dropped... what I didn't know was in that year we hadn't talked- he had joined a Frat (Phi Delta Theta) and become more outgoing, mature (grew up and out of video games and stupid kid stuff :-P) and had learned how to do his hair and dress :-P. (I'm really not vain I swear.) Anywho- so yeah- we've been dating/together ever since. It's really cool to have a boyfriend that I can actually TALK to for once- about EVERYTHING- and seriously- I haven't even talked to ASHLEY about some of the things we've talked about- ew. Anyways- that's Mike and Me in a nutshell!
I think that's about it for now... Haley and I have to run to the bank. She's a smarty- I asked if she wanted to go now or later- her response "lets do it now and get it out of the way" haha. Alrighty- hope yall liked the update! MUAH!
