Some may take issue with my title, saying that Obama simply stimulated the bill but others actually wrote and crafted it. Well, I say that a president who
spends over 12 hours PERSONALLY negotiating the details of a bill deserves to own it.
That's an interesting article by the way. And I think it raises two questions.
1) What is Obama going to do when this whole bill backfires on him and the American people blame him for everything wrong with Healthcare? Because it WILL backfire on him, given time, whether or not it passes. Especially if it passes, in my opinion. Because then he'll have spent all this time saying "We're going to fix this", only to pass a bill that will really just make the problem worse. So, the American people being the brilliant thinkers that they are, will then blame him for EVERYTHING wrong with healthcare, no matter if its the old problems he said he was trying to fix, or the new problems his bill created.
2) Do we want a president who spends THAT MUCH TIME in NEGOTIATIONS for a BILL? Shouldn't he be doing more important things? Maybe he really doesn't have more important things to do, I don't know, I've never worked in the West Wing. But... I have my doubts.
