new tanner!

i read on the wall after i tanned, about bruising it might cause and the harmful effects of cancer.

I got 3 big bruises on my leg that evening. Does this mean i shouldnt tan anymore?

Also, can you tan every day? Or do you have to go every other day?

I've never heard the bruise thing either. What exactly did the sign say because I'm a little confused by your first sentence..

And definitely don't tan every day. Tan every other day at max.

When you go into the room with your tanning bed, there's usually a sign that talks about makeup effecting your tanning, skin cancer, birth control.... it talks about how tanning may leave big bruises.

my tanning place doesnt say anything about birth control...i wonder what that has to do w/ anything

Ok! Now it makes sense! Yes, I have heard that tanning can increase bruising on your skin...that's just because when you tan, more blood is flowing closer to the skin and it's easier for those blood vessels to break (which causes bruising). For some reason when I read your original post I though you meant that the sign said that already existing bruises combined with tanning will cause cancer! LOL
And yea, birth control does produce skin discolorations, I have a small "splotch" on my upper arm that's from my birth control pills and tanning.
