Okay, I've been kind of AWOL recently and not up to date with anything, this is why:
1. Boyfriend decided to build a photobooth for an event. This meant I had to help him. It came out well, some of my friends screenprinted some stuff on the outside and made it pretty. The cat has not yet recovered from all the furniture related trauma.
2. Playing Persona 4. It's the hardest turn based RPG I've played in years (this is not saying much), and very, very Japanese. Less disturbing than Persona 3, mostly because the characters don't have to shoot themselves in the head to summon their inner demons. Haven't picked up the gay male or transman characters yet.
3. Went on a private tour of the MPR studios in St. Paul. It was magic. Our tour guide was really excited to give the tour because it meant she got out of having to work the phone lines and if she didn't know the answer to a question, she'd just stop a random guy in a break room and we'd get the answer to our question while the random NPR office worker finished washing their forks. We also got to hear Barb Abney switch from normal voice to radio voice and geek out about how she plans the crossfades and explained the sound equipment they use and we saw Mary Lucia's butt. Then we got to see the hilarious difference between the Current Studios cubes and the NPR News/Classical cubes and KERRI MILLER REALLY DOES READ ALL THOSE BOOKS OMG IS SHE A ROBOT, plus we got to take free books and got a handful of reject cds. And Gary Eichten waved at us even though he was in the middle of an interview and we went into this sound recording studio right after this jazz funk band stopped playing and the band obviously didn't realize that we were a tour because they shook our hand and asked how they sounded and I told them they were great, and then we got to see the control room deal for all the MPR radio stations, which had all this really complicated and sophisticated equipment, except for the one thing on the wall that looked like a car radio and turned out to be a car radio.
Anyway, it was fun times. I kind of want to give MPR another car now, but I need the one I have.
4. All night art crawl. Unfortunately, I was too tired to remember enough of this to make this amusing, but mostly I remember thinking that this would all be more amusing if I were high. Also, most of the art was actually really good and interesting, and most of the people we saw were very, very drunk (we headed out after bar close).
5. Read The Angel's Cut and reread Invisible Cities. mmmm pretty language.
6. Just in case you were wondering, Kathleen Hanna is still awesome. This is part of the reason why:

LLAMAFONT 8. I think I've been doing other things too? It's been kind of busy.
