Chapter Thirty Seven The Beginning
The following is directly quoted from the Goblet of Fire (pgs 732&733, American Edition). Parts in italics are changes from canon.
The usual confusion and noise filled the corridors as the students began to disembark. Ron and Hermione struggled out past Malfoy, Crabbe, and Goyle, carrying their trunks. Harry, however, stayed put.
"Fred - George - wait a moment."
The twins turned. Harry pulled open his trunk and drew out his Triwizard winnings.
"Take it," he said, and he thrust the sack into George's hands.
"What?" said Fred, looking flabbergasted.
"Take it," Harry repeated firmly. "I don't want it."
George and Fred shared a long look before George pushed the purse firmly back at Harry.
"You're mental, Harry," he said, pushing off towards Ron but Harry wasn't having any of it.
"You have to take it or I'm throwing it in the river. I don't want it. You'll have use for it."
"No! Harry, listen, you won this. We cannot take it. You can do whatever you want with it but we won't take it," said Fred, this time grabbing his brother's hand and pushing firmly past Harry.
Harry was left staring after them.
