Now that I have your attention...

As a Grad student, I'm expected to submit papers to conferences and present at least once within the two years I'm an MA candidate. So... I figure I might as well make it the most fun ever and submit papers that have something to do with my fandoms and such. Cuz why not? Well... there's always the part about professors suddenly thinking less of me, but I'm not sure I care when it comes to me speaking in front of a room full of people.

Anyway....

I NEED YOUR HELP!

Right now I have information for THE VAMPIRE IN LITERATURE, CULTURE AND FILM AREA area of the POPULAR CULTURE ASSOCIATION... one specifically calling for works on "Buffy" (to be part of a panel) and one that is more general, asking for Vampire essays. And if I send in an abstract, I can request a vampire tour of NOLA.

Are you excited? B/C the idea of this is really fucking exciting.

The other one I have is, of course, SUMMER SCHOOL IN FORKS: A TWILIGHT SYMPOSIUM because that would just be awesome.

So here's where I need help... I need to have options for conferences to apply for. If you are at a university and you see a call for papers, I would love you forever if you wrote down the information and let me know! It needs to be SOMETHING I can spin to relate to Women's Studies (aka must have a way of discussing gender, sexuality, race, class - and any combination there of - and anything else you think Women's Studies would cover). I need a few weeks at least to figure out a paper outline and write an abstract, so a deadline of October 18 is not going to cut it ;) Also, CFP (call for papers) for journals works too.

Popular Culture/Media or Sexuality Studies are really my fortes - but I'm branching out into Novel/Literature analysis, so that works too. Especially if it's Romance or Queer novels.

I love you all anyway, but any help you can give me would be great! OH! And I should probably stay in the US b/c while i can apply for some money, I won't be able to make up the difference of going abroad. Oh! And extra points for anyone who finds something in Ohio, Nevada, Arazona, Chicago, Mass., or Alabama! <3 <3 <3
