Today was rather damp and dreary, quite literally and figuratively. In the morning Chris and I woke at our own wills. It's really great to not be bothered by an alarm and to wake when the time is right. Anyway, he had to leave and I mulled around pretending to start my studies. Ancient philosophy isn't really something that makes my engine start. After I skimmed my notes and started to write an outline of facts that seemed noteworthy, I called Rainbow to see if Kyla happened to be around. In doing so, I had the chance to speak to the elusive Dave! I swear he must have a huge question mark face. Post Mystery Man encounter, Kyla said that it was okay for me to come into work at four. It sure is sad that I would much rather go to work than finish studying for a final. For some reason my scholastic motivation sure has plummeted once I got to college. Actually, I don't think it really changed that much; only the circumstances. Things can't stay the same forever, they do say.
I was delighted to go to work and experience a much needed change of pace and scenery. I like working at Rainbow. Despite my tendency to create highly awkward situations, my knack for dealing with strangers is improving. It's ashame I have such anxiety. I'd like to picture myself as a social butterfly with charisma out the wazoo. Too bad I can't even call in a food order. Alas.
All the stores on main street are decorating their windows for the holiday season. We had a measly strand of white christmas lights and six poinsettias. A good start but I think the aurora emanating from Liberman's could keep Judd awake at night. So, to boost our christmas moral and credibility Will and I finished up making some Calvin and Hobbes Evil Mutant snow goons, though they turned out to look more cheerful and happy rather than evil and gooney. I really enjoy the people I work with. I feel less awkward and more at home than I do even at home. Go figure.
Alright, Kiddies. This girl has to go finish reading up on Aristole's metaphysics and epistemology and the philosophical repercussions which occurred! Ta-ta!
