Riding was to me like Wesley Willis was to Batman

In other words, riding whooped my ass.

So I just got home for a full day of riding my motorcycle-- well, learning to ride it -- and I'm beat. My thighs hurt from gripping the tank with my knees. My hands are swollen and hurting from squeezing levers. And I'm just plain worn out.

But it was a blast!

I waved my first Harley wave; I shifted all the way through the gear box [because]; I went 60 mph on Highway 155; and I didn't kill myself. So, all in all, I'd say I did alright. Sure, I goofed up a few things, and almost ran over Derek once, but other than that, it was good.

Next weekend is 12 hours of riding for the MSF course. I'm going to ride one of the provided bikes because they're smaller (125-250cc, whereas mine is 600cc) and I can dominate it. Then, I figure, once I've dominated those, I'll feel a lot more confident on mine. But, of course, I'm going to try to ride mine some this week, as soon as I can unload it from my truck. Just around the neighborhood some -- no big road trips or anything.

Eventually, in a couple of weeks, I'd like to start riding to work. 50 mpg is the bomb.
