Seriously? Grown ass men still drunk-dial? Bump that noise- I'm going to Chicago!

Sometimes I just love being a grown up! Like when I can buy new cars. Or have nice things. Or hop on planes on a whim...

There was a Decemberists concert in Louisville that some of my friends were pissed that they missed... never even heard it advertised. So, I went to the Decemberists' website to see if they had any other dates, and sure enough, they'll be in Chicago this coming week. And guess who's opening? MY BRIGHTEST DIAMOND!!! Shara Worden, what what?!

I've already scheduled off on Friday because, back in February, I had planned to go to Chicago for the Andrew Bird concert. Before we knew it, though, the concert was sold out, so instead of me going up, the Chicago boys decided to come down for a Keeneland-filled weekend. Now, though, we're doing both. I'm flying up Thursday afternoon for MBD & Decemberists, I'll chill and shop in Chicago on Friday until the guys get off of work, and then I'll ride with them back down to KY.

Oh, and a couple of weeks ago, I went to the Sondre Lerche concert in Chicago and it was brilliant. Meanwhile, while I was livin' it up in Chicago, one of my projects at work decided to die in a fire. And my Project Manager wouldn't let any of my backups call me because "they needed to know what it would be like if you left." Monday, when the PM let them call, I got a jillion phone calls on my way from Chicago and I ended up going straight to work with my bags still in the car.

Sometimes I just hate being a grown up! Like when I have to go to work instead of tear up Chicago. Or, usually, around the time bills are due. Or when things get complicated. Complicated by a drunk-dial at 3 in the morning. Like some Pretty Ricky Hotline bullsnap. And oh, he even sang it to me, with changed lyrics, as in

E: "It's 3 in the morniiiiin'... and I'm up talkin'-"
Me: "NO! NO! NO!"

Among other things, he also felt the need to "school me in the subject of Love." Grrrrrrrrrr... why me?!

I'm going to bed... let's all hope I get zero (0) mid-night serenades.
