Another update on my life in the fast-paced world of the transit industry:
I passed my in-service test today, which was a culmination of pretty much everything I've done in training: the test consists of driving the entirety of a route (in this case, the lovely 5 line) and picking up real, live customers while a stone faced examiner watches and takes notes. I passed without problems, except for the fact that the farebox got jammed and rendered useless halfway through.
Also, I almost ran over Matt Bonniwell the other day, because he was standing in the street like a rube. Hi~larious.
With that out of the way, I finally got to pick my routes. I got, all on the same day, the 790 (an express route to Plymouth via highway 169), the 568 to Minnetonka via Nicollet and 50th St., and, everyone's favorite, the 3, which connects the two downtowns via Como and goes through our lovely campus.
Here's my exact schedule, if you want to pay me a visit and get a free bus ride. I'm doing this every day Monday-Friday starting sometime next week.
