Tuning in the Shine on the Light Night Dial

Dec 09, 2007 00:24

About 5-6 years ago, the antenna in my old Honda Accord broke off. I haven't listened to the radio ever since. Even with my new car, I'm accustomed to listening to CDs or simply thinking to myself while driving. On the flipside, 2 of my closest friends listen to everything and anything on the airwaves because their CD player doesn't work. Thanks to them, I've been introduced to two marvelous facets of music in Central Ohio (make that THREE):

1) Soulja Boy
2) Soulja Girl
3) WMRN-FM, Television 106.7

Let's talk about #3.

... a radio station that plays nothing but television themes. Okay, yeah, so you can find "Theme Song" CDs for $3 in the bargain bins next to checkout lanes at Meijer, but there's something magical about hearing them in this order:

1) Full House
2) The Monkees
3) E.R.
4) Moonlighting
5) NBA Showtime
6) Dr. Who
7) Speed Racer
8) Gigantor
9) WKRP in Cincinnati
10) Petticoat Junction
11) Yogi Bear
12) Family Feud
13) MacGuyver
14) Benny Hill

I never thought I'd get to hear the theme song to MacGuyver followed by BENNY HILL.

Alas, this is temporary. Apparently, Clear Channel is mucking with (as usual) relocating a few stations in Central Ohio and will use this theme until Thursday. After that, it'll be nuthin' but Pop Rock 'n Country. Whee!

I hope I get to hear Perfect Strangers and Bobby McFerrin's version of The Cosby Show during my commute to work. Oh, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air ^_^

Now, watch me crank dat soulja boy den superman dat hoe!!!!!!!!!!!
