According to Semiconductor Insights, the new 3G iPhone innards are put together by a variety of leading manufacturers around the globe. Infineon is relied for its expertise in 3G and GPS solutions while Samsung supplies a large quantity of flash memory for much of Apple's iPods and iPhones. But who could have guessed ST Microelectronics is solely responsible for the manufacture of the Accelerometers!!!
