To study or not to study......

I have two finals left this week, it's 2 in the afternoon and the greatest accomplishment from today so far has been taking a shower. I honestly have spent a good 30 minutes cutting split ends out of my hair and checking once again to see if I have e-mail.....soooooooooooooo boooooooooooooooooooooooored. And yes, you would think with two finals left this week I would hunker down and do some massive studying, just not really motivated to do that right now. Last weekend was really fun, Adam took some of us to this amazing house in College Station, there were like a gazillion people there but this place made up for the lack of movement. There was a bridge in the backyard going over a stream, tons of gazebo type structures all over the place, and the house is almost indescribable. I generally get this star-gazed look on my face a lot of the time when I'm in new situations, but I definitely just soaked this place in, books everywhere with this really cool eclectic chinese/70's/something really cool atmostphere. I probably looked really stupid just walking all over the place staring at things, but it seriously was awesome. I really wish I possessed the type of creativity to make something like that, makes me want to start painting again. I guess part of something like that is having the ability to really get inside your head and take what you're feeling and just plaster it all over a page, I really respect that. I've always had this feeling that art isn't so much something that you can go to school to be taught, yeah you can learn how to draw a face correctly or how to make shadows, but it has more to do with how you express yourself, something that you must already possess. I think this summer with the lack of people in this wonderful town of mine I will really try and work on painting and art in general.

Saturday after a 9:30 officer meeting for LSF - which I was only half-awake for- we had a group go to Still Creek Ranch, a place where kids who come from disadvantaged homes can go to live and go to school, gives them a second chance. A lot of the kids are truly grateful for everything that Still Creek has given them and that to me is more amazing then anything else, they see how this place has changed their lives and truly are happy for it. We waited on tables for a donor appreciation dinner they had, where I made ten dollars (YAY!) and got free leftover steak.

I guess that's about it, I need to go find something else to entertain myself with until I have to go to work at 3. I think I'm going to be going every weekend until summer school starts to see people because I'm going to be working everyday of the week until then. Hopefully I'll see ya'll, if not have a great summer!
