Aah, today we watched Kung Fu Panda and The Happening. The latter I watched alone because my mother didn't want to watch it. IT TURNS OUT SHE WAS RIGHT, more on that later.
Kung Fu Panda is A++
To quote the movie: ...his enemies would go blind from overdoses of pure awesomeness!
It was a fun, enjoyable movie that I would definitely want to watch again.
The Happening however fails.
While some of the scenes were a bit creepy, it doesn't deliver the same tension as 28 days later. Everyone starts offing themselves once they've been exposed to the toxins. Airborne neurotoxins which the plants have produced as a warning. You know, kill the humans, the ones ruining the earth, that sort of thing? People start panicking, moving away .. [exam on the difference between exodus and immigration, hehe, wow, that was in the movie too]
It affected a concentrated area and went as quickly as it came. But plants? Come on! The other dude that nearly made it mentioned it a few times [three-four times?], but plants? The story goes on as the people affected by it try to figure out how to survive and figure out what the hell is causing it. A few scenes of desperation from the survivors, numerous scenes of people offing themselves [think of a mild version of.. Jisatsu Circle], more people die, our survivors nearly made it out of it alive and waited for their deaths, but in the end they still lived. [happily ever after?] Yet in another part of the world, the same thing is happening once again.
