girl's guide to hunting and fishing.

i just finished reading the girl's guide to hunting and fishing by melissa bank, and enjoyed it. it was smart, witty, and very compelling. it actually didn't seem to pull me in right away in the beginning, and it took a while for it finally reel me in. but still, the last two chapters were definitely the best and was redeeming for my lack of interest in the beginning. the ending put a smile upon my face. that's how i spent my monday afternoon. laying on the couch, curled up with the comfort of a blanket and a pleasant book set me into better spirits.
"I saw my life in scale: it was just my life. It was not momentous . . . I saw myself the way I'd seen the cleaning woman in the building across the street. I was just one person in one window. Nobody was watching, except me." - Jane (Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing)

the thing about good books is that i can't help but to feel somewhat sad when i reach the end of it. it's like watching a good movie, you don't want it to end. but i suppose that's what a really good book or movie can do to you.

p.s. i think i'm getting sick. three cheers for phlegm (a disgusting word to look at in itself even without considering its definition) and poor sinuses. hip hip hoooooray.
