The end of another year. How has it happened? No agility for me for almost three months. Horrors. Bea and I are using the time to work on proofing those contacts. She's always good in practice and I have such a hard time replicating the intensity of a trial but I think I found something. After the Desiree Snelleman seminar I bought myself a little cooler but instead of a reward dispensing mechanism it seems to work really well for proofing. The other day I put highly desireable smelly buffalo tripe in the cooler and showed it to Bea. I put it about three feet away from the bottom of the A-frame. Bea was vibrating and squeaking. I brought her over to the beginning of a short jump sequence before the A-frame. Even that required some serious concentration on her part because she had to turn away and all she wanted was that cooler. Off we went at an astounding speed - up and over the A-frame - and she just kept going. Wheeeeeeeeeee.

No joy. Had to do that several times until she managed to engage brain and go into 2o2o contact behavior and then - oh joy, BUFFALO TRIPE. Good girl Bea. Self restraint yields big rewards.
Happy holidays everyone! May all your contacts be good ones, where ever they may be.
