Training Time

Aug 05, 2012 08:00

I love the light in the mornings in the summer.  Even when I have to go to work (a four letter word if you know what I mean), I can train in the morning.  Bea does best with multiple short sessions so in the summer I can do 5-10 minutes 2-3 times a day.  In the winter it's dark in the morning and at night.  And when it's hot, hot, hot I can still train in the morning.  I'm focusing on training the weaves right now and we've made it to 4 poles in a straight line.  Now it's time to hit the road again for generalization before adding poles.  I'm also working my way through Mecklenburg's book on handling skills and we've made it to turns so little Bea is learning front and rear crosses with a threadle arm thrown in now and then as prep for serpentines.  Meanwhile her big sister, Ceanna, continues in semi-retirement.  She comes out now and then and shows the pipsqueak how it's done.
