On 7/14/2011 I brought Beatrix home from Wisconsin. It seemed only fitting to start training the weave poles one year later when she reached 14 months of age. I'm using the 2x2 method which I used with Ceanna Rose and which will require great patience on my part. I'm not trying to do 12 poles in 12 days as Susan Garrett's DVD advocates but otherwise I'm following her method precisely. I now have two sets of two poles five feet apart at 2 & 8 o'clock and she seems to be getting all entries 90% of the time so today we're taking it on the road for generalization. And yesterday for the first time she joined me on the couch and laid down next to me for all of five minutes. Could extended cuddling be far behind?
Back from the park: Bea had 100% performance at the park and on the side of a quiet road with all entries. No hesitations. By jove, I think she's got it! On to the next step.
