so OBVIOUSLY i went to the midnight showing of OOTP with my mom and john. LOVED IT. although i must say i felt like i was running a marathon. the movie FLIES! but even with tiny details missed out here and there, i was overwhelmingly happy with the flick and am already itching to see it again!
i enjoyed it SO much in fact that i promptly picked up HBP the next day and started reading through it again. i got so swept up in it, as usual! i finished this morning and am now in an absolute FRENZY! i don't know how i'm going to make it 5 more days (i'm getting my book @ midnight on the 20th).
mom and i keep talking about strategy for Reading Day. some background for those who weren't on my flist when HBP came out: mom and i have been avid HP fans since book 3. when book 4 came out, we were in london flying to dublin. we got 2 copies in heathrow airport, one for each of us, even though we had promised each other that we would only get one. so great was our passion that my sister picked up book 1 in paperback. we flew to ireland, all reading harry potter and by the time we landed in dublin, my sister demanded that we find a bookstore so that we could get books 2 and 3 for her. so my family went to england and came home with a (at that time) complete set of harry potter's british editions. HA! anyway, since then it's been a bit of a tradition for us to read the books together voraciously. when book 5 came out we all stayed in and read all day at our own pace and chatted away over dinner about the book. when book 6 came out, we got a little more serious. we went and got our books at midnight and read one chapter before going to bed. the next day, Reading Day, mom and i sat together in our family room and read the entire book cover to cover in about 9 hours. NOW, the trouble we ran into was that mom kept getting ahead of me! she kept having to stifle her joy and her sorrow and her angst and her rage as she read! so this time, we're taking breaks every hour to let whoever is falling behind catch up. and now we're even talking about reading the last chapter aloud so that we finish together! WE NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahahahahha! it's all in good fun and all out of love though. i don't give a damn if anyone thinks it's nutty, as long as we enjoy ourselves and have the experience we want, who cares right?
i'm absolutely BESIDE myself with anticipation for this book! i'm thinking about watching one of the movies to content myself at least somewhat, but all i want to watch is OOTP and there's no quality copy to be found as yet (that i'm aware of. if anyone knows otherwise, SPEAK THE FUCK UP!).
okay, so that's enough fangirling from me i guess. i do so love pottermania though. i kind of hate that it's coming to an end. thank goodness there are two movies yet to look forward to.
feel free to join in on the fanwankery of this post guys. i'm in the mood to jabber on about potter for days. speaking of which (i have to add this quickly), i have decided that snape is LOYAL. i have NO SPOILERY KNOWLEDGE TO BACK THIS UP. it's my own personal theory after having read HBP for a third (or is this the fourth?) time.
genmulder, this is directed particularly at YOU! i have chosen between my stickers! and mom agrees! MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!
FEEL MY HP LOVE FLIST! FEEL IT AND BE AFRAID!
okay, i'm obviously on crack today. too much caffeine! later guys.
