^^ You're welcome! It's mostly because a) you write them well, and b) I don't want you to feel neglected if I don't read/comment at least some of your fiction.
I know, and I would totally ship them if it weren't for the fact that I think that the writers kind of sort of butchered Robin's character in some parts, and that it just happens to be Richard Armitage who plays such a dark, misunderstood (sometimes) character. I'm generally a sucker for the "what might have been" relationships. ^^
Now Richard Armitage, I totally understand. I do occasionally turn to Guy/Maz as their relationship is just as complicated as Rob/Maz, but in a wholly different way. Also, why are we having this conversation in strikethrough? XD
Because I don't want to be mobbed/jumped/sucked into a debate, since it looks like I'm the only G/M fan here. SHHH!
lol If Guy was played by anyone but Richard Armitage (well, almost anyone), I probably wouldn't ship G/M, cause no one can compete with his smoldering, and I bet that certain Guy/Maz moments wouldn't have been written. (Episodes 210 and 211 - need I say more?) And I also love the complications in their relationship; it's what makes it so fun. :D
HOWEVER, I also accept this *waves a copy of Robin McKinley's The Outlaws of Sherwood under your nose* as my real authority on all things Robin/Marian Robin Hood. (The BBC version is just fanfiction with a dose of political commentary.) You can't go wrong with the Disney version either. ^^
*takes a moment to fangirl* IKR? It's too awesome!
I want Cecil(y) in the show too...the only problem is Little John being married to Alice, plus I think that Little John is - well, kind of up there in age. *glances anxiously at Gordon Kennedy* I have a hard time imagining Mr. Kennedy as Little John when I'm reading Outlaws. It just...doesn't quite work for me.
I don't picture Gordon Kennedy as Little John from Outlaws but I do like his character on the show - that episode where he meets his son and then has to send them away kills me everytime, but he's different from the character in the book...but I like both versions of Little John...albeit the character in the book I picture as being younger...but I enjoy both characters...
But the book is definitely my Robin!canon...I just wish the show writers could have read it...before they screwed everything up...although I do enjoy Guy as a more detailed and involved enemy than he is in the novel...
You absolutely must hie yourself to a bookshop! That book is made of win with liberal amounts of awesomesauce. She actually did research and tried to make it as historically accurate as possible. *sidelong glance at BBC* And she handles the characterization much better. And...it's just great. ^^
*is thoughtful* That is true...but R/M had more going for it than G/M. (I hate writing that in the present tense! *shakes fist at BBC*) Robin and Marian sometimes understood each other more than Guy and Marian did, and we all figured that because of the legend, Robin and Marian would end up together, though not quite like what the writers had in mind. Not that I'm trying to discount your point - I think it's a very good one - but I think that G/M has more "what might have been" element than R/M.
9/10

The fact that you don't ship them, but read it anyway means a lot ^_^
However Rob/Maz is the legend for a reason :P

I don't know why I haven't bought every single one of Robin McKinley's books yet. I'm sure her version is amazing.
