Autism Speaks

Mar 30, 2008 11:43

Some of you might have read this in my myspace bulletin,
but if not, here it is now:

As some of you know, my boyfriend's son was diagnosed with a very mild form of autism and developmental delay a couple of years ago. Autism spectrum disorder affects 1 out of 150 children, boys being 4 times more likely to have it than girls. There is no found cure, but with organizations such as Autism Speaks, the word is getting out and people are finally paying attention.

There is A Walk Now for Autism Saturday April 12th at NSU and I am taking part in it, and trying to raise some money for the cause. I'm not asking for a ton of money, even if you have a quarter to donate it is a quarter more than was there before. Even if you don't donate, please take some time and learn more about what we can do to find a cure. Autism is growing fast and the epidemic cannot be slowed without the research and funding. So please, show this to anyone you know and anyone they know and keep the cycle alive.

Thank You

Lizzie
