My office has the most asinine voicemail system I have ever used. Observe the following:
The red light on my phone is lit, indicating that I have a new message. I press the little envelope button. The most annoying voice in the universe picks up and says, "Hello, welcome to Audix (sp?)! Please enter extension, and pound key."
I do.
"Please enter passcode, and pound key."
Okay, that's 11 keys pressed so far, but I do it.
"To record messages, press 1. To get messages, press 2"
Come on! How many people are actually using this asinine system to record messages? It takes fewer keystrokes to send a frigging email! Still, it's listed as choice number 1, as in the number one waste of my time. I press 2.
"Voice call received, 1:26PM. 15 seconds. (pause) To LISTEN to this message, press 0."
?!??!!??? What do you think I called to do?!? And where the hell did the zero come from?
I listen to the message, then the annoying voice comes on.
"To respond or forward this message, press 1. To delete, press *star* "D"
What the...?? All of a sudden they're using stars and letters? And the least used choice is first again?
I have a feeling this system was programmed by former Microsoft employees.

Other things that give me headaches: the jackhammers going outside my office window for the past two days. Directly. Outside. At least two of them at a time, rippin' up the sidewalk.

PT is going well and I'm walking quite easily now with the brace. I'm going to the gym a few days a week to do the bike (increases range of motion AND strengthens the legs), leg press, and various other machines. It feels good to exercise a bit. I'm back to my normal routine of taking the subway to work, eschewing the $50 a day it was costing me to take the car service. I did find out that the car service can be reimbursed by my medical FSA, but I do need a note from my doctor (who I'm going to see on Thursday). It's amazing to see who will get up and give me a seat and who looks away or chooses to ignore those in need. Hint: it's mostly women who give up their seats. I've heard this is true for pregnant ladies as well.

And speaking of preggos, my good friend Stacy and her husband Jonathan welcomed baby Olivia into the world today! I found out via text message so I don't have any details or pictures yet, but I'm super excited for them and especially for her as she was fairly uncomfortable for a good nine months. Yay babies!
