NSFW Dump
I have been rather neglectful of LJ lately, and of LJ friends, which I am sorry for. I'm so behind I'm at the point where I see all the things I need to read, catch up on, and how many people I need to catch up with, I start to procrastinate again. But I'm working at it. It just fell out of my routine, and I need to get it in there again until I'm caught up and it is no longer overwhelming.
On the upside- life is alright right now. I'm being productive, both in fandom, and outside it. Fandom wise, I am starting to do 'speed paintings', where I just go fast to get things done, and am actually getting done projects started months to a year ago, as well as actually doing things the night or week I think of them. Also fun- I am writing again! Currently working away at the War's over one, where TC more or less owns/has custody of Hot Rod. Slowwwwly, but I'm pecking at it!
Anyway, a lot of those speed paintings I have been doing are on tumblr, but I am going to share them here too, since I know a lot of you like this stuff as well. Head's up, like the title says, most of this post is Not Work Safe, so proceed with caution, depending where you are.
First up, Victory fan art! This was the first speed-paint I really tried, and I haven't redone that sketchy feel this well since. Ah well. D.Saurus is effing pretty. He just really is a lovely design from a really kooky show.
Rung and a Sparkeater. Do not worry, it is only going to sniff him, like a fine wine. This was drawn before the latest MtMtE issue. Rung is just a really fun little cuteypants to draw. And the Spark-Eater is a neat design too, if more complicated than I am used to doing.
Om nom nom. Love this one. I feel Prowl in RiD is a very maligned character, when if you look at him, he's only trying to do what he feels is right, for the most people. That's all he's ever done, and he's been the one stuck making most of the worst decisions from the worst sets of choices for a long time. That's got to eat away at you, and I'm pretty sure it's screwed him up quite a bit. Poor guy really needs to be taken away from command for a while and seen by a doctor. Arcee in IDW is also cracked, but all there enough to see that in Prowl, I think. And I don't know if I ship it, but it's fun to play with.
Anyway, here's a drabble I posted with it:
“Poor, pretty Prowl. You don’t hear that often, do you? Poor Prowl. Pretty Prowl. Which is a shame, because you are both those things in such a big way. You’re so conflicted and broken apart inside, and it’s just eating you up, isn’t it? You couldn’t love anyone, couldn’t have anyone matter to you. Everyone just had to be a piece of a bigger picture, and you had to be the one to see it. Not your Prime. Not your comrades, your scientists or soldiers. Just you, all alone. And everyone thought you were a damned cold bastard. But they didn’t know, did they? How lonely that was. What choosing who lived and died could do to your mind.”
“I know about that too. But I don’t mind. I chose to be this way. I bet you didn’t get that choice. I used to like pretty mechs like you. Before, I mean. Pretty, serious, wanting so badly to do the right thing that all they did was stumble. It was sweet as it was sad, really. And you are so lovely to look at too. Nice broad shoulders, sharp simple paint job, elegant face, delicate lips, and big pretty panels all high on your back. Bet I can make them twitch. Would you like that? You could use a night off.”
“Oh, and Prowl? I know you wondered what I got out of all this, our little deal. What did that crazy Arcee want, in her mad little mixed up mind?”
“Well you’re about to learn what I get, aren’t you?”
“Poor, pretty Prowl.”
Might elaborate on it later. They have a neat dynamic to play with.
I draw Perceptor bothering Drift a lot, but frankly I think they'd get on well most of the time. They'd be good for one another. Screwed up on Drift's hips after I had to rearrange Perceptor's legs to make him less ridiculously large.
I bet Drift is a biter.
Epic AU fanart/ me figuring out how a robot exotic dancer would look. I settled on a slim frame designed to be flexible and expose sensitive joints and things, plus internal lighting to catch the eye and tease. Armour draw in while they're at work to be more compact and revealing, shifts back out when they're off so they're less exposed and can go about their day.
