Funny to me / job hunt / laborday
OK so I've been unemployed for awhile now. . I start work again on Monday. Its nothing big, just some long term subbing for IPS. . I may have posted that earlier. TOday I applied for the job at riley i want. It'd be really cool bein a 1 on 1 teacher with sick kids. . . ANYWAY!! on to my orginal point of what i think is funny. THE FUNNIEST thing on TV today is Kaplan College ads.
For those of you who don't know Kaplan college is a college for medical assisting. You can learn how to hand things to doctors at this college. The commercials are HILARIOUS. Imagine a commercial where you have a girl going to college working a part time job see's a girl come in with scrubs on. Then its alluded to that she's dumb for going to school, vs the girl who graduated and went to kaplan college and gets to work with "REAL DOCTORS" . . .
I find this funny on several levels. The selling point that your a) not smart enough to be a doctor and the best you can hope for is to hand things to the doctor. b) you're an idiot for spending for years in college when you could be done in six months. Now the reason that is funny is because the average income for a medical assistant is 27 k a year. That means ALL of the the CMA's working 1 - 30 years .. the middle number is 27 k a year. NOW thats after 15 years of work.. . . WOW. . Seriously in 15 years of working at mcdonalds you could make more if u weren't a complete moron.
Finally the cast: girl from kaplan beautiful. Dept. store workers: troll people folding clothes.I know there usually is a difference in the level of attractiveness of the person speaking for vs agasinst your product or service, but this takes it a whole new level. Like night and day difference. They may as well have toxically mutated blobs as the people not going to kaplan. Ah hilarity.
