Well today was a pretty good day until I was stupid enough to look up my ACT scores online. I got a Composite Score of 30 which was my goal for my first testing considering I did nothing to prepare for it and didn't really know what to expect. My English score was a 32, my Math score was a 28, my Reading score was a 34, and my Science score was a 26. Yeah, the Science section seriously kicked my ass and I knew that as soon as I finished the test. I'm glad that I know my scores now, but the really stupid thing I did was tell my dad that I was looking up my scores. In retrospect, I can't believe that I said anything to him at all. I know that nothing I do is good enough for him.
But anyway, I showed him my scores and I got this disgusted look. When I said in a response to that look that I was pretty happy with these scores because they were my goal for my first testing, I got a retort of, "Well I'm sorry that you are happy with that score. There is no way that you are going to get into college with that score. I think its time we start rethinking where we are looking for college; I'm not really willing to look at the University of Chicago anymore." Those were his exact words. I didn't get one word of praise for my 34 or 32; I didn't get any consolation for my Science score; I didn't even get a "you'll do better next time!" All I got was my dad being a pompous ass and the most discouraging person that I have ever met. I was happy with my score until he opened his big mouth; now, I just feel like a failure.
Oh that and of course all the wonderful school drama that is coming to a head. *sigh* I am seriously in need of a pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream, a good movie, my pjs, and a fluffy blanket.
EDIT: Oh and I forgot! My air conditioner was fixed today! It is now a comfy 72 degrees in my room and I have a spiffy digital thermostat! Weeeeeee! xD
EDIT EDIT: Apparently I am full of news today and not very good at remembering it... I also got my final draft of my term paper back. I got a 95! I am super excited about that because 1) it's a term paper and 2) it just brought my average up quite a bit in History!:D
