LIVESTRONG Challenge 2008

May 20, 2008 09:51

I just signed up to participate in the LIVESTRONG Challenge for the second year. You may already know how passionate I’ve become about cycling over the last year and a half. While I have had a broken foot for the last 3 months, I got to see the doctor today, and as part of my physical therapy, I will be cleared for spinning classes 3 days a week in the next week or two! This means that I will be more than ready to ride 65 miles in the LIVESTRONG Challenge by October!

When I heard about the LIVESTRONG Challenge last year, which benefits the Lance Armstrong Foundation, I knew I had to participate.

More than 1.3 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer this year alone. Three out of four families in America will be faced with caring for a family member with cancer. My family has experienced this first hand, and I felt like this was a way to help make a difference so that a cure can be found.

I need to raise at least $250 to participate in the Challenge, but my goal is to raise $1,000. It’s a big goal, one that I will need the support of people like you to achieve.

You can donate online at livestrongchallenge.org. Thank you in advance for your generosity and understanding how important this cause and event are to me.
