Happy Halloween!  Usually for Halloween I make my costumes, if I buy anything I buy one part and assemble/create the rest around it.  This year, I knew I would see a lot of students, but I also wanted a cute costume for my friend's party.  I wanted it to be something that was appropriate....me!  After thinking for awhile I came up with Alice in Wonderland.  Since this is my first year teaching, and it took me so long to come up with an idea, I couldn't make it this year...this is the second year I have bought a costume.  I bought one a year in college for the same time constraints.  I can use the petticoat in this costume next year as well as a skirt I got to make my dark fairy costume last year though....hmmmm....anyway...here is my costume when I tried it on...you can see my house some too, I'll post better pictures of it later.

Back view of my Alice in Wonderland costume....

And the front!

Spinning through the rabbit hole...

I LOVE the stripped card stockings that came with it.

Jumping through the looking glass.  This is an up close of my profile picture.

Um random but needed to add since I went on my livejournal hiatus.  THis is the picture I took from after the Chesapeakeman Ironman swim (I only did the 2.4 mile swim in it) ....placed 5th overall and 1st in my age group! They don't add up the fastest times but there were a lot of fast people entered in the swim-only this year....my time was the 7th fastest women's time overall in the entire event. (With 100s of people)

This is the street by my house, that my window out of my living room overlooks.  My glass door overlooks the river full on (you can kinda see in the costume pictures).  Sometimes the river overflows past the brick wall and onto the street.  After I took this picture a big heron sat on the wall...I couldn't zoom in to get him because I was taking this picture on my mac anyway.

(Sorry for not cutting, I posted in rich text to get the pictures right and can't figure out how to cut in rich text?)
