Great Cheapeake Bay Swim!!!
And the results are in!!!!
I placed in the top quarter of the event (700+ males and females) with a time of just over 2 hours. This was slightly slower than I was expecting, due to unusual currents and trouble staying in a straight line, especially during the last half mile. But is still a VERY VERY good time for my first bay swim!!!!!!
I got THIRD PLACE in my age group. Not sure what place I was out of woman overall, but I think I may have been somewhere around 20? Maybe a little better? I got the tail end of a huge cluster of people from getting off course at the end.
Fundraising....I won the scholarship!!! It was sooo close. My final total was $1525.30, less than 20 dollars more than the next person (who won the award last year). I raised the 6th highest amount overall too, so I got a goodie bag of stuff, including a little Nike swim bag.
