MEME TIME. My favorite madcap_shiny gave me seven things to talk about.
1. HAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE you seen any good movies lately, and if nothing recent springs to mind then what was your favorite thing you last saw?
I have watched barely any movies this entire year, BUT. The last movie I saw was Goon, which is a DELIGHTFUL DELIGHTFUL HOCKEY MOVIE. It's really surprisingly sweet for a comedy about hockey dudes beating the shit out of each other with as much cinematic blood as possible, but. but. HOCKEY FEELINGS AND TEAM FEELINGS and also Alison Pill adds about 375043760943763 awesome points, for real.
2. WHAT IS AN ALCOHOLIC DRINK THAT IS GOOD?
I remain as ever super boring about what I drink, which is vodka and rarely. One time I had this super tasty lemon-y thing called limoncello? Also Coworker Don talked me into trying that Sex on the Beach drink when we all went out for his and Coworker Joel's last night at work and that was super fruity and had lots of alcohol while tasting like there was none at all, so. YEAH I WAS DRUNK.
3. Name your top five favorite fun. songs. (YES I WENT THERE) (or you can just talk about which songs/albums would be good for a newbie to get into) (/cough)
OH OH OH. OHHHH. Okay well there are only two albums, so here I will throw some favorite songs at you. You are just getting four because I don't like multiples of five!
1. Be Calm
SO THIS SONG. I have really distinct memories of walking around Knox listening to this song when I first got fun. stuff, and being super emotionally into it, ha. And this was the totally amazing acoustic version they did at my show? It's probably a bit of a YOU HAD TO BE THERE thing, but their intro was like YEAH WE WEREN'T PLANNING ON DOING THIS SONG AT ALL BUT PEOPLE WANTED US TO AND WE'RE NOT REALLY SURE HOW WE'RE GOING TO DO IT, BUT LET'S GO! and then they did it and it was great and the whole room was singing along, woooo.
2. Take Your Time (Coming Home)
This was the song they were playing during that moment I mentioned in that LJ entry, and is also just really great in general? the line "forgive everyone" just sticks with me like CRAZY. Also oh my god everyone should just watch this from 2:40 - 3:50 because that's when we all cheered for a minute straight and his smile is fucking BEAUTIFUL and yeah okay FEELINGS. (you can't actually hear Nate in the video at all, really, because the camera of the person filming it moooostly picked up audience singing)
3. Some Nights
Okay, I have a problem and that problem is NOT BEING ABLE TO STOP PLAYING THIS SONG ON REPEAT. If I start this album from the beginning when I'm driving, I cannot listen to this song only once, I have to play it AT LEAST ONE MORE TIME. This song just GRABS ME AND DOES NOT LET GO. LISTEN TO IT.
4. We are Young
And then We are Young happens next on this album, and it's such a solid fucking good song, it's insane. The opening verse, man. CHILLS.
4. WHAT WAS IT LIKE HANGING WITH LYN-Z BALLATO-WAY FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TAKES TO OBTAIN A CELLPHONE PICTURE. (my sincerest apologies if that picture was not taken with a cell phone.)
NERVE-WRACKING OH MY GOD I WAS A WRECK. But I was not blinded by her shining magical presence and did manage to talk to her (AND PUT MY HAND AROUND HER ON HER BACK LIKE A CRAZY PERSON???). Our conversation went like this: "UM HI YOU WERE REALLY GREAT IT MUST BE GREAT TO BE ON STAGE AGAIN YOU LOOKED LIKE YOU WERE HAVING A GREAT TIME EVERYTHING IS GREAT GREAT GREAT GREAT" ...actually I don't remember what she said in response to my word vomit at first, but I VERY CLEARLY REMEMBER how she said that she needs a fucking VACATION on an island somewhere, and it was the most charming thing, and I will remember Lyn-Z Way saying "fucking" to me FOR THE REST OF TIME. And then taking the picture was super awkward because we were surrounded by a MOB OF PEOPLE but I am glad I did it even if my face is the most awkward face EVER. 5. Who! Is your favorite Hunger Games character? (CAREFUL WITH SPOILERS, PLZ, I STILL NEED TO READ THE NEXT TWO BOOKS AND ALSO THE LAST THIRTY PAGES OF THE FIRST)
NOT PEETA. but no I am awful at picking favorites in things? AND I HAVE A LOT OF BITTER HUNGER GAMES FEELINGS, I need to reread the first one. This was a fake answer but man Kyrie you should finish reading them since I think you will agree with a lot of my conflicted feelings about the series as a whole and I would like to talk to someone about it!
6. Do you have a favorite picture of Frank? IS IT POSSIBLE TO CHOOSE?

OH MY GOD WHAT THAT IS A PERFECT IDEA. I don't. What. I. THERE ARE TOO MANY POSSIBILITIES. God I think I just want to throw all of the characters together and see what happens. LIKE POST-MOVIE NEEDY AND DEAD!LILLY MEETING ~SUPERNATURALLY~ AND TRACKING DOWN JENNIFER, WITH LILLY ENLISTING VERONICA TO HELP, BECAUSE HER GIRL VERONICA IS A PROBLEM SOLVER. I just want all the ladies to interact. Or I want to insert VMars people into the plot of Jennifer's Body and SEE WHAT HAPPENS. I love everything about this.
I was going to write a lot more in this entry but it's been open for like, over a week, but now I've decided that five in the morning is when I want to finish and post it, so this is about all the content it's getting. MY NEXT ENTRY WILL HAVE A LOT OF HOCKEY FEELINGS, I'M SURE. Until then I'm going to just rewatch this video and figure out how to someday put my intense emotional response to it in words. (HOCKEY IS FOR LIFE!!!)
