My lovely Winter Vacation has had a rather unfortunate turn for the worse. And right at the beginning too.
My family is friends with this absolutely lovely elderly woman named Mae from our church. Her children have made some less then desirable choices, and it's sad to watch. In any case, we got a frantic phone call from Mae today about how her alcoholic daughter was up in a hospital in North Carolina, with her liver failing. Mae's without a car, and couldn't reach her son, so my parents took her.
I got a call not long ago that Mae's daughter has stabilized, for now, but if something else goes wrong they won't be able to help her. It's all the more sad, because she has a six-year-old son who has to watch his mother die on Christmas. Sort of like "Christmas Shoes", only real and more upsetting.
In other news, I've been scrounging around, trying to get sketches done for every picture I have to do. Then, of course, I've been distracted reading Hey Arnold! fanfiction and watching the movie... *Uber dork mode*
I should've done about five billion other things. I still should. But, I can guarantee, the minute I post this, I'll be haunting around the net for more fanfiction.
Hah.
