I've been spending most of my time online. And not doing anything useful, like reading news. No, I have to read random shit on livejournal for hours and hours, doing nothing productive.
No wonder my back is suffering.
This past week has been a blur, mainly because there's no frame of reference. It took me until getting to campus this morning to realize that it's actually Saturday. I went up there to meet with Claire (another study abroad student, from Wash U at St. Louis, who is majoring in International Studies) at the travel agency on campus.
We decided on a "safari" that's actually just a ten day trip through Botswana's Okavango Delta (crazy animals) up to Victoria Falls on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Afterwards we'll be traveling on the Baz Bus with other youth (not necessarily students) from Johannesburg back to Cape Town, following the coastline. It'll be fantastic and I plan on getting a great tan. :_D
My first final is on Tuesday so I need to start studying. I only have three short weeks left in Cape Town. One final this next week, then two plus the election the next week, and then one last week of doing whatever I can fit in before our flight to Joburg to begin the tour.
It's pretty important that I pass my classes though. Graduate school requires it!
Oh, I went hiking two days ago from UCT upper campus to Kirstenbosch botanical gardens, which is about a 4 mile strenuous hike up the side of a mountain and then back down. I only made it one way and had to take the bus back. *sigh* I'll work on it, but my legs are still aching. I'm in poor shape, something I hope to work on when I get home and go back to waiting tables. Fun!
