Less than ideal
My main reason for writing this letter is defense of innocent, helpless children.
The factual information below consistently shows the ideal situation for any child is to be raised by both a mother and a father. Gay marriage would permanently deny children this obvious advantage.
Seventy-two percent of adolescent murderers and 70 percent of long-term prisoners grew up without fathers. Sixty-three percent of youth suicides and 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes. These statistics are furnished by the U.S. Department of Justice.
If for no other reason than the safety and security of our children, let us do everything in our power to keep the God-given institution of marriage as a union between one man and one woman.
