This is irony, right?

Five years after I first saw it at Toy Fair, my action figure holy grail has shown up on Ebay for the very first time. Something I've been pining after for years. No one ever seemed to have found one anywhere, but the company swore it was released in teensy tiny quantities somewhere on the planet. I've had a standing search the entire time, and this is literally the first hit it's ever gotten.

Zero bids, but the starting price is a) more than I'm comfortable paying for a single action figure, and b) below the unknown reserve. Plus twenty dollars shipping.

A link is helpfully provided by the seller to the evidence for the item's rarity. The figure's price and description as a highly-collectible, super-rare item are based on the one internet reference the figure has ever had.

My own 2002 Toy Fair report for ASM.
