I was not sure what everyone was talking about why today was so special, so I went into the University's library and read for three hours because I got distracted a bit on this holiday.
"In the United States, Independence Day (commonly known as "the Fourth of July","July Fourth", or even simply "The Fourth") is a federal holiday celebrating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, declaring independence from Great Britain."
Independence Day is commonly associated with fireworks, parades, barbecues, picnics, baseball games, and various other public and private events celebrating the history, government, and traditions of the United States. Fireworks have been associated with the Fourth of July since 1777.
No wonder I did not know anything about this; it happened much further after my time. However, we do have many fireworks in Verona, I have not seen them displayed for quite a while. Picnics I am much aware of, but barbecues and baseball? I do not know what these events are.
I am not afraid to say I am feeling out of place while everyone else is keen on celebrating. The Dean, Mr. Mustang, is appearing a little more like a pyromaniac to me when I saw him heaving a very large explosive into his office. I will just stay in the library and try to find out what baseball is, I enjoy my time in there.
