As of late I have traveled the web to find answers to the burning questions I had regarding music and shows.
Alright it started more or less when I was at launch.com and was getting pissed for the upteenth time that they lacked the variety in music and that they had removed some of the artist's videos that I had streamed daily. It got me thinking what had happened to some of my favorite artists. The first being Filter. They had a link to their site so I visited it. Interesting thing apparently their front man got sober and as of last year announced that he was part of another band called Army of Anyone. The guitarists in the new band are from STP! He also says that Filter isn't over he is just taking a break from the group. That was cool.
Next I wondered what happened to Silverchair. I know "who are they?" Well they have been around since the grunge days and their last album Diorama was great. I always wondered why they just dropped off the map after releasing that album in the US. Well no more. I used my special skills, Google, to find the Silverchair's site. Turns out Daniel Jones, who is the lead singer and creative force behind Silverchair, suffered reactive arthritis probably from previously being anorexic and had to stop all touring for Diorama. He was bed ridden for 15 months because of this illness. He did finally recover and was able to play guitar again. He then decided to do a side project with Mac something called The Dissociatives. Apparently though he hadn't quit Silverchair and they will be releasing an album sometime this year. Whoot!
Oh I'm not done. Since I had been so successful in my other quests for answers I decided to find out the answer to a question that had been with me for over a year. For all those SCI-FI geeks who watch StarGate SG-1, I decided to find out what happened to Jack O'Niel. I wondered if the actor who had played him had quite the show because it was very abrupt his character leaving. And it made me sad that cynical Jack O'Neil character would be not part of the show anymore. Well the guy who plays him is Richard Dean Anderson, Yes Macgyver, did stop the show, but will be returning for five episodes to tie up the loose ends with his character. I had remembered my brother commenting on how old he was and that he was probably retiring. Well he was partially right. He decided to slow things down, but not retire quite yet. Something I found humorous was that he is actually my dad's age (born in 1950-January), which I have to say isn't that old.
