wow
okay i am so exhausted
drumcorps is the best thing i've ever done. and i wanna do it for the rest of my life. i love the people and the music and the marching and everything.
right now i'm in a senior corps, which mean's it's all-age and basically anyone can join. next year, or the year after, i want to do a junior corps. that means it's only for 21 year olds and under. So if i do a junior corps like Carolina Crown or Concord Blue Devils or The Cadets, etc., then i'll be on the road for about a month and a half next summer. most of the corps don't allow cell phones, and of course there's no tv or radio or ANYTHING except for marching and music and competitions. i'm gonna get my ass kicked, and i can't fucking wait.
so this is how it went on the first tour of the season
friday and saturday-
i left around 5:30 pm on friday
8pm pull out of rocky mount with the rest of the corps
5am saturday-arrive in Dover, NJ (about 30min. away from nyc)
sleep for about 1 1/2 hours
9am rehearsal until about 11:30
noon- long ass parade
2:30pm lunch
3:15pm rehearsal until about 5:30
6pm leave for competition
8pm on field for competition
11pm or so-back to the middle school to sleep on the gym floor again
sunday-
6am-wake up and load the truck and busses
7am-leave for dunkalk, md
1pm to about 3:30-lunch and parade. that parade was damn long. oh my goodness. and it was like 95 degrees with rediculous humidity and we were wearing half uniforms
4-travel for a while and then eat dinner around 6 or something like that
and then i get really sick cause someone sprayed fucking perfume
7-9:30pm-rehearsal
then we set off fireworks and got caught by the fuzz. it really wasn't bad though, he just told us to leave lol
so anyways after rehearsal and fireworks with the drumline, we FINALLY got to take showers (cause there weren't any in nj) and yeah.. it was my first group showering experience. enough said.
monday-
8:30am wakeup (yay finally about 6 hours of sleep!)
11am-8pm- Six Flags America!!!! ahhhhh that was so much fun. i rode so many coasters
back to the school and then sleep
tuesday-
to make a long story short, tuesday kicked my ass. 4 parades all ranging from a little under a mile to over 3 miles. and it was a lot of fun, but i'm still tired.
so then we leave around like 3 or so and get back to rocky mount around 11:15 or so
my life will be like that every day. for a whole month. next summer.
oh yeah and my bday was a week ago today and i hope i'm getting my belly button pierced tomorrow
