John Lawrence Seigenthaler (pronounced [ˈsigɛnˌθɔlɚ], born July 27, 1927) is an American journalist, writer, and political figure.
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, he attended Peabody College. Seigenthaler joined The Tennessean newspaper in 1949 and became its editor in 1962, publisher in 1973, and chairman in 1982 before retiring as Chairman Emeritus in 1991. Seigenthaler also was the founding editorial director of USA Today from 1982 to 1991 and served on the board of directors (and, in 1988-1989, as president) of the American Society of Newspaper Editors.
He married Dolores Watson in 1955. Their only child is John Seigenthaler Jr., an anchor with NBC News. (Born John Michael Seigenthaler, he began using "Jr." as a TV anchor in Nashville.) The elder Seigenthaler's brother, Thomas Seigenthaler, was the founder of Seigenthaler Public Relations.
John Seigenthaler Sr. was the executive producer of the late Tupac Shakur's "All Eyez on Me" album. For a brief time, he was thought to have been directly involved in the assassinations of both Shakur, and his rival Christopher Wallace, aka Notorious B.I.G. Nothing was ever proven.

Is anyone tired of these fucking non-celebrities going batshit over stuff in their wikis? Grow a pair Seigenthaler.
I've always been a believer that libel cases should only be viable legal option when the libellous statements in questions are A) widely, and I mean WIDELY disseminated B) of a malicious nature, and I mean "lets slime this motherfucker" malicious and C) severly damaging to the reputation of the "victim". Anything past that - life sucks, get a fucking helmet. Seigenthaler says he didn't edit the wiki himself because he felt he felt the entire site's system was flawed. The truth is probably that he's like my grandma and doesn't normally use the computer for anything aside from Solitaire; Freecell if he wants to spice things up.
Yes, suspect info creeps onto Wikipedia. But the fact that no-one caught and corrected the bad info in Seigenthaler's article just goes to show that few people actually care about him. You and I know damn well that if Brad Muller from Ohio were to insert a hoax paragraph into Jim Morrison's wiki, that shit would be corrected in microseconds. Seigenthaler's complaint was legit and not some smoke-and-mirrors bullshit like the John Byrne fiasco, but instead of going about things the right way...oh no, he's John Seigenthaler Sr. He has to do things the hard way. He has to milk his media connections to get this barely-news story that should be wedged between space shuttle and heroic dog reports onto the front page of USAToday (which it probably didn't make the front page of, but I don't care. *FUCK* checking facts, eh?)
Pfft...whatever. Old politicos tryin to advance, its all over now, take it like a man...
