A really good one too. At Cortez, this fancy, well-known mediterranean/tapas place right across the street from our house! It's even finer dining than A Cote where he used to work. He had some competition for the position and he wasn't even totally confident in his abilities, but the chef asked his staff who they liked best and they said he should hire Jay. The chef told him he has "chops." He seems like a reasonable, fair guy who is interested in teaching his staff and is very serious about food. Jay has to start from the bottom of the line and train, so he wont be making much money for a while, but he'll learn a lot and it will look really good on his resume. And it's a place he can be proud of working, unlike the last place we worked for a few days. He's be working dinner obviously, 5 nights a week, so I'm definitely gonna have a lot more time to myself, in fact we wont be seeing much of each other, but hopefully he'll have Sundays off.Anyway, I am happy and proud.
