This (all of it) is beautiful writing, Snow. I think maybe the reason I never got all wrought up in Buffy/whoever is because underneath it all, the 'ship to watch was Angel/Spike. If I didn't think so before, this fic would have certainly convinced me.

What a sad, aching end for our boys who've fought and died to save the world, only to have the world give up on itself. I've read a number of fics in which Angel gives up on everything and withdraws into himself. This is only scenario that I've found truly convincing. You made me cry for Connor, and for the whole of humanity.

It's funny... I read an article recently in Scientific American about what the world would be like if all the humans vanished, and it described how Manhattan would very quickly revert back to its forested beginnings. The scene you paint here is eerily reminiscent of that.

You did a great job with this fic, Snow. I twirl you with delight. <3

I have missed your Angel/Spike so. This is achingly sad and beautiful and terrible. What a horrible end to contemplate for them, going and on while the world dies around them. At least they have each other and as you gorgeously show, for now it's enough.
