When I was growing up, I remember my mom talking about how people who get tattoos are ruining their bodies forever.  That the art work you picked had to be there for the rest of your life, no matter what kind of person you became in the long run.  I didn't realize how right she was until I was much older.  A friend became addicted to crack cocaine ( Read more... )

That's why people shouldn't get tattoos like that.
Every tattoo i have was long thought out and the only one that wasn't is now covered.

I agree with this. I f'ing HATE when people say "tattoos ruin [someone's] body" because it's far too inclusive of a statement. Sure...if you pick out a design under less than ideal circumstances, you might have regrets. But I--like you--have tattoos that mean SO much to me (a couple for my children, etc.). I can guarantee that, when I'm old and wrinkle-y and/or on my death bed, I will appreciate them just as much then as I do now.

And to be honest, I don't know if I'd have anything removed. Covered or incorporated, maybe--definitely covered it it was really inappropriate. But rather than looking it as a "constraint", I'd look at it as a concrete reminder of how far I've come. But that's just me.

It's being held by a tattoo removal company. Just had to write a short thing about someone getting a tattoo removed.
