Viking Rock.
Viking or "Battle Metal" was first brought to my attention by Steve Hampson a band called "Turisas" and subsequently I have discovered more band of the same genre. From my understanding it was all stated by a band called "Running Wild" about 15-20 years ago. The style combines heavy rock and growling vocals with some folk influences such as the use of Fiddles and in some cases Piano accordions.
Its not for everyone... but its fun to bounce to.
Not to be confused with pirate metal....
Your coat for 'Liberating' stuff from Games Workshop.
Aged 14.... had a genius idea of taking one of the two long cashmere coats i had been bought and chopping the very bottom of the pockets out of them, thus allowing my light fingered self to pocket several items from the aforementioned shop, and if asked to empty my pockets I would simply pull out the insides and "show" that I had nothing in there. worked very well and made a bit of money doing it via the re-sale of said items to people at secondary school. Have no need to steal now mind.
The Boys Brigade.
Was in in for a few years, stayed on as an officer. went to a few camps and was part of the national championship band. still have the uniform around here I think.
Left due to religious differences. but then most of us did in the the end I think.
A fat dude living on your bedroom floor in a gorrilla pit.
That was you Mr J. I was and very untidy teenager, I have a friend who we used to go out and both get quite squiffy. i would then collapse onto my bed and you would curl up in a pile of clean/dirty clothes that happened to be on my floor at the time and burrow in for the day as i normally had to go to work the day after.
Am Tidier now mind... have to be.
Denmark.
I lived there with a girlfriend for 6 months and to be honest it was a good time and I felt quite healthy for living there as i cycled everywhere and the pollution levels were very low. but it was not to be and one fateful weekend in Manchester I realised that. I learnt a total of 5 words in Danish and worked in a kitchen with a Slavic Guy and a bloke from West London... So it was all good.
Life is better now
