I can't tell one thing from another

I hate it how I have to be so fucking politically correct all the time. In really intense moments I want to walk right up to an arbitrary person who is pissing me off, and tell them EXACTLY what I think. Sadly, most of the time these thoughts are not sugar-flower-happy-bunny-unicorn thoughts. Ok, so now this entry is about two things: political ( Read more... )

I don't agree. People shouldn't be honest 100% of the time. White lies can be good, too.

But if you want honesty, here goes:

I think you read into "moral stories" too much. Such as...bullyling stories. I think you feel that if you want someone to stop something, you have to be really direct and just say "Stop it. Seriously." Not everything has to be like it is in D.A.R.E. stories or whatever. You don't have to be so direct with your friends...if you asked me politely and in a more subtle fashion, I would get it. I'm not an idiot, you know. =P It just bugs me when you say "stop it." so abruptly.

yeah people are more likely to listen to politeness, but sometimes they just don't get it.

as for the below comment,
my friends tease me about stuff all the time, but not in the mean way. not like nananana boo boo your hair looks so bad. by "teasing" i mean to say "laugh with me, not at me". makes more sense?

Are you saying I wouldn't get it if you asked me to stop in a more subtle fashion? I'm not that clueless...

Also:

"Moral of the story: If i look like a clown before heading out, tease me to get your point across, then stop and offer to fix whatever is wrong with me. So you are being constructive, helpful, and no feelings got hurt. Yay!"

Teasing just makes you feel bad. I'd rather have someone (well, not a stranger, but you know what I mean...) reach over and fix my hair or whisper to me that I have something stuck in my brace than have them make a big deal over it. Most people don't feel the same way you do about this. Also, I, for one, don't think "raccoon-eyes" overdoes her make-up, and I wouldn't want people coming up to me insulting my make-up if I were her. I honestly think it looks good on her. Each to his or her own. It wouldn't be nice to insult someone just for the sake of being honest.
I know I'd rather be bissfully (ignorance is bliss) confident with a chunk of hair sticking up awkwardly than feel humiliated but have a perfect hair-do.

yeah being nice might not get your true emotions across but it helps in the long run cuz you still have that friend. never tell someone to suck something up cuz then they want to do voodoo on you and that gets bad.
