Kitten Needs Home

My sister was driving down our street when a van slowed down, opened its door, and tossed out a kitten. She rescued the little kitten and had a friend who was planning to adopt it. However, the poor little kitten as FIP.

If the kitten survives the initial infection, it may live for years. But the poor little things needs a home for now, someone to nurse it, and a home if it survives. My sister and her friend cannot keep it-- they have other cats and do not want to expose them. Our vet does not keep any cats and has no suggestions.

Does anyone know of any place or person who might be willing to take in the kitten? If not, she may have to be put to sleep.

Update: After a little internet research and calls to other vets, we've found out that the test our vet administered to check for FIP is not very good. Although it costs $200, about 90 percent of kitties end up testing positive. Why bother administering that test? I do not know. There's a better test, but that will cost another $150. Since we've already spend about $600 on little Phoenix, we're looking for vet that's either cheaper or does some charity work for kitties that have been abandoned. Any suggestions?
